Learn to Sing Article 03: Should I Pay for Vocal Lessons or Voice Coach?

I am sure that all of you have sang in your bathroom shower, or in your car or room with the stereo full blast. I am sure that if you are on this website now, you all probably think that you sound good and have a decent singing voice. The truth is that 95% of today's population sing everyday in their car on the way to work or in the shower when no one is home. Singing brings us great joy and makes us feel good when we do. The problem is that most of these shower singers aren't very good and they have no idea how bad they really sound.

You see when you sing in the shower, your voice becomes a little amplified because of the acoustics of the bathroom. It becomes rather echoey and with a false sense of reverb. To the untrained ear, it sounds as if you have a really powerful voice, but if you were to record yourself singing in a studio, you will soon realize that your voice is not quite as lovely as you thought.

The same goes for people who sing over their stereo system or over a song playing in their car radio. The fact of singing along with a song gives you a false sense of sound and your voice gets blended in with the voice of the song's original singer and once again leads you to think that you sound better than you are. Again, try recording yourself in a studio and you will soon notice a big change.

Now, not all of us are bad singers. In fact a lot of people are born with a natural talent to sing better than others. However, without a voice coach or professional vocal lessons, they will not be able to fully develop their singing talent and sound as great as the singers on the radio sound. That is why if your goal as an amateur singer is to become a professional singer and make singing a career, it is highly important that you take some good vocal lessons, hire a reputable voice coach or invest in a good how to sing software program as soon as you can. Do not waste another minute trying to refine your voice in the shower because it is useless. You need either a professional singer with a musically trained ear to show you how to unluck your singing voice, or a really good learn to sing software that you can work with.

What is really exceptional from hiring a voice coach or taking vocal lessons whether it be with a learn singing software or a singing instructor is that you will learn how to properly fine tune your singing voice in no time. You will learn how to develop your different types of singing voices that you probably didn't know you had or could bring about. Singing voices such as head voice, chest voice, falsetto, and even whistle voice can all be developed with proper training from a voice coach, or vocal lessons from a how to sing software program.

So be honest with yourself and realize that no matter how good you sound in your bathroom shower or how well you can sing along with your favorite songs on the radio, only vocal lessons or a voice coach will help you learn how to sing like a true professional singer.
